SIX MORE SIGNINGS BRINGING IT UP TO A TOTAL OF 13 WITH MORE IMMINENT
The club remains busy filling up squad positions for the 2023/24 campaign. A further three new players have been brought in and a further three players are continuing from last season.
The three new signings are:
Joni Tejera
The 26 year old has spent the past three seasons with fellow local club U.S. Yaiza. The versatile midfielder has been a regular for Yaiza and last season played 20 matches and scored three goals.
Santiago Rosa
The 25 year old Argentine who also holds Spanish nationality began his football with Club Atlético Sarmiento in Buenos Aires and debuted in Argentina’s top flight of football. The 1.83m (6 foot) is a left footed attacking midfielder that can also play on either wing. He arrives from Penya Esportiva in the Third Division in Spain whom he joined in last season’s winter transfer window. He made an immediate impact with the Balearic club scoring seven goals in his 11 appearances.
Guize Medina
For the past three seasons the local boy has played for the youth team of CD Marítima. The 19 year old enjoys playing on the wing but is also an attacking wing back. Last season he started every one of the 30 games for his club and when his season ended he joined Marítima´s first team and helped them win promotion to the Regional Preferente (league below UD Lanzarote).
The three players who have renewed their contracts are:
Alejandro
The Rojillos 33 year old goalkeeper has signed for his 8th consecutive season. The Rojillos have been blessed with two excellent keepers and once again the 1.90m (6 foot 2 inch) keeper will compete with his team mate and good friend Ruymán to be in-between the sticks. Last season both were one of the four captains of the side and were instrumental in helping the club finish in second position.
Javi Martín
This will be Javi´s second season with the club after establishing himself as a regular last season. The 25 year old elegant midfielder played in 26 matches last campaign and started 22 of those games. The local lad has that enviable ability to look as though he has all the time in the world on the ball. He is an absolute joy to watch.
Ismael Traoré
The 29 year old Ivory Coast winger has signed for this third season having joined the club in the January transfer window a couple of seasons ago. Naturally left footed but does switch flanks and loves running at the defence and causing havoc. Last season he was the Rojillos second leading scorer with nine goals in 28 matches, 22 of which he started.
These six players join new signings Luciano Pierce, Ale Fuentes and Alex Cruz as well as Gonzalo Di Renzo, Adrián Machín, Ruymán and Raúl all of whom have renewed their contracts.
