The Rojillos made difficult work of securing second place but thanks to a shock result with UD San Fernando losing 1-2 at home they have clinched that second spot.

The Rojillos dominated the majority of this match and when captain Raúl scored early in the second half the travelling Lanzarote fans expected the floodgates to open.

All credit to the Gran Canarian side as they end their one season in this league with a battling display.

A corner was headed home with 13 minutes remaining to make the score 1-1 and Estrella were back in the match.

Shortly after the home side hit the bar and the game went from end to end with both teams in search of victory.

Lanzarote will now play UD Villa Santa Brigida who came from behind to win against UD Tamaraceite 1-2 to clinch 5th spot.

Next Saturday or Sunday 29/30th April (date not confirmed) Lanzarote will travel to Gran Canaria to face UD Villa Santa Brigida with the return leg a week later on the 7th May at home in Arrecife.
