LANZAROTE HOME THIS SUNDAY 16th AT 12 NOON

UD Lanzarote will be playing their final home league match of the season this Sunday 16th April at 12 noon knowing that a win will guarantee them a spot in the playoffs. Pay on the gate. Doors open at 11am. Adults 8 Euros, Pensioners 6 Euros, Children under 16 years are admitted free of charge (2 Euro discount for residents).

With two league matches remaining the Rojillos goal is to secure qualification to the playoffs but also a win would keep them in the hunt for second spot. The team that finishes in second will be playing the second leg at home in the playoffs and it also gives them a possibility of qualifying for the Copa Del Rey.

Lanzarote face mid table side UD Tamaraceite and the Gran Canarian side has been in good form. Up until last week they had won three and drawn one of their last four matches though they were toppled in their last match 2-0 by Champions elect CD Mensajero but they will certainly be no walk over.

In their ranks is David González who has played for UD Las Palmas on more than 200 occasions in Segunda A (Championship). David has been with UD Tamaraceite for four seasons and is a superb central midfielder and incredibly he will be celebrating his 42nd birthday in August. He usually wears number 10 so keep an eye out for him.

The club realizes that passions run high especially as we are now in the crunch time where every decision from the officials is critical.  The club reiterates not to climb over the billboards and onto the running track during the match as the club has and will be fined. If anyone sees Antonio trying to climb over please gently deter him. We all know he can be very vocal and is harmless but nevertheless he can’t go over into the track.

Don’t forget this Sunday all season ticket holders and club members will have the opportunity to vote for their three most favourite players of the season. This will be done on the door by David and Brendan and I will be asking the local fans for their top 3 players. Your first player will be awarded 3 points, second two points and third one point.
