THE ROJILLOS ARE PLAYING AT HOME THIS SATURDAY (12th Feb) AT 5PM

Lanzarote will be at home this Saturday at 5pm versus 11th placed CD Marino. The match was originally going to be played on the Sunday but both sides agreed to bring the match forward a day.

If you wish to go to the match then simply pay at the gate on match day. There is no need for a Covid Certificate. Restrictions are easing on the island however in all public events in Spain such as markets, cinemas and football matches the use of a mask is compulsory.

There are no refreshments currently available inside the stadium so bring along a bottle of water with you and once the sun dips in the second half it can get a little chilly so it’s advisable to bring a warm top.

The Tenerife side had a difficult start to the season which is probably down to the hangover of being relegated last year from the Segunda B (Third Tier). They will be confident especially as they won last Sunday at home 3-0 and in their last 7 matches they have taken 14 points and climbed up to 11th position. A win would see them leapfrog Lanzarote who are in 9th.

The competition this season for playoff positions has been remarkable. The only side in the league that realistically have no chance of a playoff finish is bottom club UD Las Zocas who have 9 points. This has been highlighted by fellow local club Yaiza who only a couple of weeks ago were sitting third from bottom but with four wins on the bounce they are now in the final playoff spot in 5th and still have games in hand.

One thing is certain is if Lanzarote are going to challenge they must start winning as they are three points adrift from the playoffs and teams around them have played less matches.
