CLUB FINED 1500 EUROS AND ORDERED TO CLOSE PART OF THE STAND FOR THEIR NEXT HOME MATCH, 22nd January 2020

CLUB FINED 1500 EUROS AND ORDERED TO CLOSE PART OF THE STAND FOR THEIR NEXT HOME MATCH,    22nd January 2020,

Following the referee´s report on the incident that occurred in the 88th minute on last Sundays home match versus SD Tenisca UD Lanzarote have been fined 1500 Euros and have been ordered to close the left hand side of the stadium for their next home match.

With passions running high with most supporters amid some dubious refereeing decisions unfortunately several fans blew their fuse and climbed over the advertising hoardings to protest to the officials.

Fortunately those fans stopped two metres before entering the pitch as was noted in referee Aitor Ramirez Ramos´s report.

The final five minutes of the match was put on hold for over 20 minutes as the National Police were brought in as a precaution.

The Club could have received the maximum of a 6000 Euros fine but have been warned that if this were to happen again the fine will be between 6001 to 12,000 Euros and possibly to play behind closed doors.

UD Lanzarote urges their fans to support the club but even when frustrations reaches boiling point, if you cannot control yourself then it would be better to stay at home. Entering onto the pitch at any time including after the match is forbidden.

It is not sure how this closing of the left hand side of the stand will come into effect as it is more than likely Lanzarote´s next home game will be in Tias. Once this has been decided I will inform on the situation.

UD Lanzarote issued a statement on Monday regretting the incident of a minority of fans and will provide any help required to police should an inquiry follow.
