UD LANZAROTE KICK OFF THE SEASON THIS SUNDAY 25th August at 12 noon.

The Rojillos (The Reds) are ready for the season ahead having had a good pre season but it was not without incident.

Lanzarote´s number 5 Miguel Gopar impressing in pre season.

Newly elected President Claudio Doreste resigned from his post last week but if anything this has proved to unite players, management and supporters.

There was plenty of uncertainty within players and management but finally the resignation was received last week and long time Lanzarote club director and current vice President Enrique de Paíz has become interim President until the new elections take place within six months.

Something that I have wished for years is that each player has his own squad number for the season. Previously it was just numbers 1-16 on the day but the Spanish Football Federation have finally agreed to give each player his own number. This makes things a lot easier recognizing players. The full squad names, numbers and ages have all been updated and are on this website www.lanzarotefootball.com so just click on squad.

Getting to a game is simple on public transport. From PDC and CT the bus (number 3) goes to and from every 30 minutes dropping you off at the central bus station which is only 100 metres from the stadium (Ciudad Deportiva). From Playa Blanca bus number 60 leaves at 9.55 and returns at 2 and 3pm.  A better option perhaps is to get in touch with Bills Sports Bar-Faro Park on Facebook or pop in as he is organising return buses to matches at a great price from Playa Blanca.

Each year holidaymaker Ian Bereton signs up for his Socio at Teguise market.

Abonos (Season tickets) are available from the clubs office Mon- Fri 6pm-8pm which is just 100 metres down from the Sports Bar in Calle Isleño 4. They are also available from me (Ian) at Puerto Del Carmen Friday market in the Old Town and from Teguise Sunday market both from 9.30am – 2pm.

The season tickets are also available from the new club shop which is now open at CC Nautical, local 25 in Costa Teguise (Opposite Pueblo Marinero square and behind Café Bonjour). Opening hours are Mon-Fri 10am -1pm.

The shop now open Mon-Fri 10am to 1pm in Costa Teguise.

Adult season tickets are 60 Euros and Pensioners are 30 Euros. To become a Socio (club member) is a great way to truly support the club. There are no major benefits for you other than showing your affection for the club and helping the club earn vital financial support from local government offices and businesses. For an adult season ticket holder it is just an extra 15 Euros and for Pensioners 10 Euros. Anyone can buy a season ticket or a Socio. You do not need to be a resident. Become a Socio!

VAMOS SAROTE!
