The Rojillos came so close to extending their winning run to six matches but just fell short against the second placed side whom remain unbeaten at home this season.

Some fans from the Trifulka fan club with several foreign supporters joined their team to watch an enjoyable hard fought goalless draw.

A few from the Trifulka fan club.

It was doubtful that the Rojillos were going to find this match easy as the Gran Canarian side have only conceded nine goals at home all season whilst scoring forty seven.

What is the most important thing to arrive? The kit? Nah of course its the drum.

During the first half both sides enjoyed equal possession but it was Lanzarote who had the better chance of taking the lead when midfielder Enrique Castaño forced the keeper into an excellent one handed save preventing the ball creeping inside the post.

Lanzarote upped the tempo in the second half feeling confident that they could continue their winning ways and in the 53rd minute the Rojillos hit their opponents on a counter attack. Rosmen was there at the end to apply the finish but the Gran Canarian keeper stunned everyone by pulling off a brilliant save.

The hosts came close with ten minutes to go but keeper Alejandro remained alert to ensure he kept a clean sheet. Neither side was content to settle for a draw and a winner for one looked on the cards.

In added on time Ayoze Pérez had a chance to win it for his side when he found himself alone inside the opposition area but once again the San Fernando keeper Choolani denied the Lanzarote captain as both teams gained a point.

Lanzarote are in fifth spot and have two games in a week. First up is at home this Thursday 29th March at 12 noon versus 11th placed side CF Pulido San Mateo and this is followed with an away game on Lanzarote versus bottom club CF Haría on Sunday the 1st April at 12 noon.

This is not an easy place to catch local transport to but there may be a mini bus organised by Ian Manson which would leave from Biosfera Shopping centre. If anyone is interested let me know on the Facebook page Lanzarote Football Club.

Last Saturday the other two island clubs CF Haría and U.S. Yaiza met in the local derby match. Yaiza were left with just nine men at the end of the game but they also ended the match with a 0-1 win and are in 10th spot.
