ADIÓS ÁNGEL.
ADÍOS ÁNGEL
Club vice captain Ángel Gil and one of the most popular players ever to wear the red and blue of Lanzarote has decided to call it a day after 22 years with his beloved U.D. Lanzarote.
Ángel has spent 13 years in the first team of Lanzarote with the majority of those years being played in Segunda B (League 1). With more pressing work commitments as a swimming instructor he has been unable to attend training as much as what is needed to play at this level.
His debut for the Rojillos was in the Segunda B in the 2004/05 season versus the mighty UD Las Palmas. He played a total of 290 games and scored on seven occasions.
Still at only 30 years of age the club is leaving the door open for
Ángel to return though for now on behalf of everyone who has seen him play or knows the bubbly personality of Ángel we all wish you the very best.
Hasta luego Señor Lanzarote.
