Lanzarote claim their second away win of the season with two early goals which lifts them up to third spot in the table three points adrift of league leaders CD Marino.
The Rojillos began the match well with captain Jotha coming close after just five minutes from a free kick. In the 10th minute a corner from Marcos Cabrera found the head of defender Fran Gil who comfortably nodded home his first ever goal for Lanzarote amid horrific defending from the hosts.
Seven minutes later and the Rojillos found themselves 0-2 up. A quick counter attack led by striker Rosmen who cleverly held the ball up until midfielder Raúl Hernández arrived. The Lanzarote midfielder neatly placed the ball past the keeper and into his left hand corner from the edge of the box to also score his first goal for the Rojillos.
The Gran Canarian side tried to fight their way back into the match late in the first half but it was Lanzarote who had the better chances to increase their lead.
As expected the home side came out with more determination in the second half but the Lanzarote defence looked secure, that is, up to 20 minutes into the second period. A strike from a narrow angle was saved by the Lanzarote keeper but the Rojillos right back Camacho had no time to react as the ball hit his leg and found itself in the back of the net giving the hosts a lifeline at 1-2.
The Rojillos had one scary moment towards the end of the match when sub Vitolo fired wide from eight yards but overall Lanzarote were good value for their three points.
Next Sunday Lanzarote are at home in Tias at a 12 noon kick off versus Gran Canarian side Estrella CF.
