U.D. IBARRA 3 LANZAROTE 0
Eleven goals conceded in their last three matches sees the Rojillos suffer their third consecutive defeat on the bounce.
For the umpteenth time this season Lanzarote concede the first goal in the opening few minutes which immediately changes their game plan. A ball over the top of the defence was met by striker Adán who made no mistake in sending the Tenerife side 1-0 up in the third minute.
The goal gave the home side confidence and even though Lanzarote recovered well it always looked as though the Tenerife side were favourites to score the next goal. Lanzarote´s best opportunity in the first half fell to Javi Betancort five minutes before the interval but the midfielder failed to convert.
A couple of minutes into the second half and Lanzarote manager Adolfo Pérez brought on youngster Fran Gil and winger Toñito. Gradually the Rojillos took hold of the game and forced Ibarra to defend with the Tenerife keeper making some good saves to prevent Lanzarote from drawing level.
A second red card of the season for Rojillos captain Jotha for a late challenge in the 78th minute reduced Lanzarote to ten men. Three minutes later and the Rojillos were dead and buried when defender Ángel Gil brought down danger man Adán in the box, the resulting penalty was dispatched by the striker and Lanzarote trailed 2-0.
To finish off a miserable day for the Rojillos Adán bagged his hat trick deep into stoppage time to complete the scoring at 3-0.
Lanzarote´s next fixture is a rearranged match in La Palma against SD Tenisca on Thursday 21st at 1pm. Following this Lanzarote will be at home this weekend versus Tenerife side CD San Isidro at time and date to be confirmed.
